Call for Industry Spotlight Talks

Bridging Research and Practice in Multimedia & AI

We are pleased to invite industry practitioners, engineers, and visionaries to submit proposals for the Industry Spotlight Talks at the upcoming IEEE 9th International Conference on Multimedia Information Processing and Retrieval (MIPR 2026).

This session is designed as a platform for industry to share real-world applications, practical challenges, and innovative solutions involving multimedia and AI technologies. We aim to foster a vibrant dialogue between academia and industry, driving the next generation of intelligent information systems. This session also provides an opportunity for industry speakers to engage with a broad academic and industrial audience, share insights from real-world deployments, and connect with potential collaborators and talent.

Theme —— "Agentic AI for Multimedia"

The Industry Spotlight Talks session is organized under the theme of agent-based, autonomous, and intelligent systems applied to multimedia.

Scope

The Industry Spotlight Talks session invites contributions that showcase practical applications and innovations at the intersection of Multimedia Processing and Artificial Intelligence.

While the primary focus is on Agentic AI for Multimedia, we also welcome a broader range of related topics, especially those that demonstrate relevance to agent-based, autonomous, or intelligent systems.

We encourage submissions across all scales and stages of development—from well-established systems to experimental, forward-looking industry research and emerging systems, including interdisciplinary approaches that leverage multimedia and AI.

Submissions that are closely aligned with the theme of Agentic AI for Multimedia will be given priority, while high-quality contributions from related areas are also encouraged.

Topics of Interest

We are interested in talks that cover, but are not limited to, the following industry-relevant topics:

  • Intelligent Information Retrieval & Agentic Systems
  • Solutions for managing, searching, and generating high-dimensional data at scale, including the use of vector databases, RAG, and agentic AI in production environments.

  • AI for Multi-Modal Understanding
  • Practical applications for analyzing and interpreting diverse content types (video, audio, text, sensor data, etc.), including integration with intelligent agent systems

  • Deployment, Optimization, and Edge AI
  • Real-world challenges and solutions for deploying AI systems, including autonomous or agent-based systems under resource constraints.

  • Emerging Multimedia Technologies
  • Case studies on generative AI (e.g., diffusion models, video generation), synthetic data, and emerging technologies with potential relevance to agent-driven systems.

  • Responsible AI in Practice
  • Ethical considerations, safety, bias mitigation, and governance in real-world multimedia AI systems.

  • Foundational Models and LLMs
  • Practical applications of LLMs and foundation models, especially when used as components of agentic or autonomous systems.

  • Benchmarking Agentic Systems and AI Performance
  • Industry approaches to evaluating the performance, robustness, and reliability of agentic systems and multimedia AI applications.

Talk Format

The Industry Spotlight session consists of high-impact 15-minute presentations, followed by a brief 5-minute interactive Q&A.

We encourage talks to focus on practical insights such as “how-to,” “lessons learned,” and “strategic outlooks for next-generation systems,” rather than purely promotional content. Selected speakers may also be invited to participate in a panel discussion.

Submissions should focus on technical insights, practical experiences, or lessons learned, and should not be primarily promotional in nature.

Important Dates

All deadlines are 11:59 PM AoE (Anywhere on Earth):

  • Submission Deadline: June 21, 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: June 28, 2026

Submission Requirements

Proposals should be submitted via the conference portal and must include:

    1. Title & Abstract: A concise title and a 300-word summary of the talk.
    2. Key Takeaways: 3 bullet points explaining what the audience will learn.
    3. Speaker Biography: A short bio emphasizing relevant industry experience.
    4. Reference Material: Optional links to existing documentation, white papers, or public repos.
