WS3 - IEEE Workshop on AI for Culture, Art, and Design (AI4CAD)

Theme: Multimodal Agents for Culture, Art, and Design

Imagine an AI that not only generates a poem but understands the sorrow behind a traditional folk song; an agent that co-creates a mural with a human artist, adapting brushstrokes in real time; an embodied system that collaborates with a fashion designer, sensing fabric texture and draping dynamics. This is not science fiction—it is the emerging reality of multimodal agents powered by large multimodal models and embodied intelligence.

The AI4CAD workshop celebrates the convergence of artificial intelligence with the most human of domains: Culture, Art, and Design. We move beyond tool thinking toward a new paradigm of symbiosis, co-creation, and empathy—where AI does not replace human creativity but amplifies it, respects cultural heritage, elevates aesthetic judgment, and nurtures emotional resonance.

  • Cultural Value – Preserving, revitalizing, and democratizing cultural heritage.
  • Aesthetic Value – Enhancing beauty, originality, and artistic expression.
  • Emotional Value – Fostering empathy, joy, and meaningful human-AI connection.

We invite high-quality original papers that address the revolutionary opportunities and challenges brought by multimodal agents, large multimodal models, and embodied AI to culture, art, and design. Topics include but are not limited to the following:

Track 1: AI for Culture

  • Multimodal agents for cultural heritage digitization and preservation
  • AI-powered language revitalization and oral tradition documentation
  • Virtual restoration of historical artifacts and sites
  • Cross-cultural knowledge transfer using foundation models
  • AI for intangible cultural heritage
  • Bias, ethics, and inclusive representation in cultural AI systems
  • Gamification and immersive storytelling for cultural education

Track 2: AI for Art

  • Multimodal agents for co-creative painting, music, film, and literature
  • Aesthetic evaluation and affective computing for AI-generated art
  • World foundation models and embodied agents for interactive art installations
  • AI choreography for volumetric video, motion capture, and live performance
  • Style transfer, prompt engineering, and controllable generation beyond imitation
  • Copyright, provenance, and authenticity of AI artworks
  • Neuroscience-informed AI for art perception and creativity

Track 3: AI for Design

  • Agent-based generative design for fashion, product, and interior design
  • Real-time co-creation systems with embodied AI
  • Multimodal interfaces for design prototyping
  • AI-driven procedural generation for VR/AR worlds and game design
  • Physics-aware and interactable generative assets
  • UX/UI research on human-AI collaboration in creative tool design
  • Sustainable design through AI optimization and material intelligence
